The polymer industry is changing rapidly: on the one hand, performance expectations are rising, while on the other, regulatory compliance and sustainability requirements are becoming increasingly prominent. In this transformation, the most critical need for companies is the ability to make the right material selection quickly and reliably.
At GUZTEC POLYMERS Turkey, we address this need in three key areas:
- A broad and application-focused product portfolio
- Project development & technical support approach
- A sustainable supply chain model through global manufacturing partnerships
1) “Choosing the right material” is no longer just a technical decision
In the past, material selection was often based solely on mechanical properties. Today, however, the following questions are also on the table for the same part:
- Is this material stable in the selected process window?
- Does warping/shrinkage behavior push the limits of manufacturing tolerances?
- Does the part maintain its performance under operating conditions (heat, chemicals, UV, humidity)?
- What is the company’s approach to compliance requirements in the relevant industry (e.g., RoHS, REACH)?
That is why we use the concept of “the right material” rather than “the best material”: a material that delivers the target performance, is processable, and meets compatibility requirements.
2) Technical support: It begins at the start of the project, not after the sale
In our approach, technical support is not a “service” that begins after the proposal phase. On the contrary, it is a catalyst that comes into play at the start of the project.
The GUZTEC team provides technical guidance focused on material selection and processes. In new part development processes, technical evaluations related to design are primarily conducted by the manufacturer; when necessary, GUZTEC requests CAD data and coordinates the revision/improvement process with relevant stakeholders, supporting technical process tracking. This allows our customers to reduce trial-and-error costs and shorten time-to-market.
This approach makes a real difference, particularly in the following projects:
- Technical parts with tight tolerances
- Products with an aesthetic finish
- Applications where dimensional stability is critical
- Mass-production runs involving multiple suppliers
3) Supply security = competition security
Just as finding the right grade of engineering plastics is important, so is managing that grade sustainably. After all, success in production is achieved not by “specifications on paper,” but by consistency in the field.
GUZTEC plays an active role in the distribution of raw materials used in the polymer industry and operates as part of the Hromatka Group. This corporate structure enables us to offer our customers a reliable partnership in terms of portfolio management, supply continuity, and the flow of technical expertise.
GUZTEC’s operations in Turkey, meanwhile, have established a strong foothold in the distribution of engineering plastics following a distribution agreement signed with SABIC in 2013.
4) 2026 and beyond: We must manage three objectives simultaneously
Today, our customers have three priorities on their minds at the same time:
- Performance: lighter, more durable, more stable
- Compliance: Regulatory and Customer Audit Expectations
- Efficiency: stable production in the process window, low scrap rate
To achieve this three-way balance, simply “selling products” isn’t enough; a partnership is required. At GUZTEC Polymers Turkey, this is exactly where we come in: the right material selection + technical support + supply plan.
If you’re developing a new project or looking to improve performance or processes in an existing component, please contact us. Let’s work together to define the key parameters of your project and develop the most suitable material options and a supply chain roadmap.
